Case Study

Ashley Court, Brighton - MDU

Name: Ashley court, Brighton

Units: 66 THP

Delivery type: Invisilight cabling

Connection points: 4 UFS boxes

Network points: 1 underground Fibre Agg node

All cabling works at Ashley Court, Brighton were completed using an Invisilight fibre solution, installed above the front doors within the apartment building. The project covered 66 units within a large multi-storey complex.

Each apartment was connected to the network via its own Point of Entry (POE) box, linked directly to one of four UFS boxes located throughout the site. To meet British fire safety standards, all fibre cabling was secured using Linian fire-rated clips, and all wall penetrations were sealed using Hilti firestopping sealant to maintain building compartmentation and compliance.

Existing riser cupboards were utilised to run cabling vertically between floors. From there, the fibre breakout occurred into the corridors, allowing for discreet and efficient routing to each apartment’s front door—ready for future service activation.

The site is supported by four UFS boxes, each fed from an underground fibre aggregation node in the street. The fibre backbone consists of four feeds, which distribute connectivity through 32-way splitters located across the UFS boxes. Testing of the POEs was carried out using calibrated power meters to ensure all fibre light levels were within acceptable limits for activation.

As a result, all 66 residents at Ashley Court now have access to ultra-fast fibre optic broadband through the Openreach Fibre to the Home (FTTH) network—providing reliable, high-speed connectivity built for modern digital demands.
