Case Study
Tanners Hill, Deptford - MDU
Name: Tanners Hill, London
Units: 100 THP
Delivery type: Drop cabling via Catenary wire
Connection points: 8 FDPs
Network points: 7 UG Fibre nodes
All cabling works at Tanners Hill, London were delivered using external drop cables installed via catenary wire above the front doors of each apartment. The project spanned 100 units across eight separate residential buildings within a single estate.
Each apartment was fitted with a 5-metre fibre coil routed from the nearest Fibre Distribution Point (FDP), mounted externally and positioned above the front door—ready for seamless future activation. To establish the core fibre infrastructure, six civils construction jobs were completed to bring Hyperoptic’s fibre service from the Openreach network into each building. Fibre-Net Solutions carried out the full Test Rod & Rope (TRR) and PIA cable installation, routing fibre from six underground (UG) fibre nodes to eight FDPs across the site.
The estate is served by eight FDPs connected to six underground fibre nodes within the Openreach network. A total of 100 individual fibre lines were spliced from the UG network to the FDPs to enable reliable light transmission. Each fibre coil was tested using calibrated power meters to ensure light loss was within optimal levels for customer connections.
As a result, 100 residents at Tanners Hill now have access to superfast fibre optic broadband through the Hyperoptic Fibre to the Home (FTTH) network—delivering dependable, high-speed digital connectivity across the entire estate.
