Case Study
Regents House, Brentwood - MDU
Name: Regents House, Brentwood
Units: 136 THP
Delivery type: Invisilight cabling
Connection points: 2 FDPs and 7 BFPs
Network points: 1 OLT cabinet
All cabling works at Regents House, Brentwood were delivered using a multi-phase Invisilight fibre installation across the building’s eight floors. The project included 136 units within a large, high-rise residential tower.
Each apartment was fitted with a Point of Entry (POE) connection box, installed above the front door and connected via Invisilight cabling from the nearest Fibre Distribution Point (FDP). Cabling was installed throughout the corridors to link each POE, ensuring discreet routing while maintaining accessibility for future activation. Seven
Building Fibre Points (BFPs) were strategically installed within the riser cupboards across the floors, providing splicing locations for fibre signals delivered from the main network cables in the basement.
The building is served by two main FDPs and seven BFPs, all fed from an on-site Optical Line Terminal (OLT) cabinet, which was installed and tested by Fibre-Net Solutions. The OLT is powered by a Nokia switch and distributes service through nine 1:16-way splitters mounted on the internal splice tray. Final testing of the POEs was completed using calibrated power meters to verify that fibre light levels met the necessary thresholds for future customer activation.
As a result, 136 residents at Regents House now have access to superfast fibre optic broadband through the Hyperoptic Fibre to the Home (FTTH) network—offering high-speed, reliable digital connectivity throughout the entire building.
